The Japan Trademark Association (JTA) was established on November 28, 1988 as an independent association.
As of May 2025, JTA has 889 members consisting of 5 advisors, 457 individual members, 16 special members (academic experts) as well as 263 corporate members and 148 other legal entity members. Corporations, attorneys and patent attorneys, and professors, who share the common interest in trademarks and the related field, collaboratively engage in various activities such as research and studies, policy advocacy, information exchange, mutual development of the members. Mutual communication among the members is also encouraged at JTA.
